RESOLUTION NO. 15-17 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY RECOMMENDING CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF <br /> THE RED MORTON COMMUNITY PARK SPORTS LIGHTING <br /> PROJECT, AND ADOPTION OF ITS ASSOCIATED INITIAL <br /> STUDY/MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION <br /> WHEREAS, the City's Parks , Recreation and Community Services Department <br /> has identified the need for replacement and additional new sports lighting at Red Morton <br /> Community Park; and <br /> WHEREAS , the installation of sports lighting and expanded field hours helps to <br /> implement Policy BC-6. 5 and Program BC- 11 of the General Plan 's Building Community <br /> Element; and <br /> WHEREAS , the City prepared an Initial Study Checklist to determine if the <br /> installation of the sports lighting would result in a significant effect on the environment; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS , in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), <br /> an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration has been prepared to assess potential <br /> environmental impacts that could result from implementation of the proposed project; <br /> WHEREAS , the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration concluded that the <br /> project, with the proposed mitigation measures contained in the Initial Study/Mitigated <br /> Negative Declaration , would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS , the Project incorporates all applicable mitigation measures identified <br /> in the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration to reduce environmental impacts to a <br /> less than significant level ; and <br /> WHEREAS , in accordance with CEQA Guidelines Sections 15072 and 15073 , a <br /> Notice of Intent to Adopt an Mitigated Negative Declaration was filed with the County <br /> Clerk on July 29, 2015 and posted at several locations on the project site in order to <br /> inform the public of the required 20 day public review and comment period ; and <br /> WHEREAS , on August 18, 2015 , the Planning Commission held a duly noticed <br /> public hearing to take in public comment and review the proposed project and Initial <br /> Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration dated June 2015 ; <br /> ATTY/RES0.3125/PC RESO RED MORTON SPORTS LIGHTING <br /> REV: 08-13-15 VR <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
