Vice Mayor Claire asked that Item 6.B. be considered at this time. Vice Mayor Claire stated <br /> at the October 10, 1994 Council Meeting that the Brown Act prohibited him from giving his <br /> personal opinions on a subject not on the published agenda, and he therefore requested an <br /> opportunity to make known his personal opposition to Propositions 187 and 188 at the meeting <br /> of the 24th; and, he did not ask for a discussion of 187 and 188 or the other ballot measures <br /> issues with either his fellow Councilmembers or the public. <br /> MIS: CLAIREILA BERGE TO TAKE THIS ITEM OUT OF ORDER AT THIS TIME <br /> MOTION CARRIED ON THE FOLLOWING VOICE VOTE: <br /> AYES: CLAIRE, LA BERGE, SANFILIPO AND MAYOR BUCHAN <br /> NOES: GREENALCH AND STEINFELD <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 94-221 <br /> Vice Mayor Claire summarized the Council subcommittee's "no position" stance on <br /> controversial state propositions, and expressed his strong opposition to Propositions 187 and <br /> 188.
