ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> A. City Manager Everett introduced the City's new Human Resources Director Maria <br /> Rivera-Pena who was welcomed with a warm round of applause. <br /> B. Susan Keely, Canyon Road, thanked the Council for its support of the Canyon Road <br /> Improvement project, and specifically thanked the Canyon Road Council Committee <br /> members Jack Greenalch and Dick Claire. Mrs. Keely expressed the apprecïation of her <br /> neighbors and herself at the wonderful job Interstate Paving Company had done, and the <br /> way in which the Council and staff worked with the Canyon Road neighbors to achieve <br /> the much needed improvements. Mrs. Keely said she had a restored faith in government <br /> and the community working together to get the job done. Mrs. Keely stated that the <br /> Canyon Road Improvements should serve as a model on how to do this kind of project. <br /> Vice Mayor Claire thanked Councilman Greenalch for his leadership in resolving this <br /> forty year old problem, and thanked the staff and especially the residents of Canyon Road <br /> for their perseverance and participation.
