ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> A. Mayor Buchan welcomed former Redwood City Mayor Robert Spillers. <br /> B. Joe Steinfeld, Main Street, asked the Council to take a leadership role <br /> in resolving the dispute between the disparate groups seeking letter permits <br /> for similar festivals at similar times, and distributed an article on <br /> President Clinton's mediation efforts between the timber interests and the <br /> environmentalists. <br /> C. Councilwoman La Berge described the recent convention she attended <br /> and described some of the resolutions passed and sent to Governor Wilson. <br /> D. Councilwoman La Berge reported on her meeting with Park and Recreation <br /> Commissioners Nordness and Barone regarding the establishment of a Youth <br /> Advisory Committee, and advised they would be talking with community groups, <br /> schools, the clergy, the Chamber and Hispanic organizations for further <br /> input. <br /> Adj.
