RM <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />January 5, 1970 7:30 P.M. <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilman Arnett. <br />Invocation led by Reverend Donald J. Cunningham, Woodside Road Community Methodist <br />Church, <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Dixon Arnett, Mary W. <br />Henderson, Paul C. Keckley, John S. Rosselli, Ray A. Weymouth, Vice Mayor <br />Herbert G. Petersen and Deputy City Clerk Marian McCrindle. Noted absent was <br />Mayor Robert H. Bury. Also noted present were City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, <br />City Attorney David E. Schricker, Assistant City Manager Henry V. Burget, Police <br />Chief John R. McDonald, Fire Chief Joseph Lodi, Director of Public Works J. <br />Louis Scherer, City Auditor -Accountant Jack Ference, Planning Director Ken <br />Schroeter, Chief Building Official Charles Gyselbrecht, and Secretary Frances <br />Ozzanto, <br />Councilman Keckley moved to approve Minutes of Regular Meeting of December 15, 19695 <br />as mailed, seconded by Councilman Arnett and carried. <br />Progress Report - Redwood Shores. <br />It was noted by the City Manager that, in the interest of holding down administrative <br />costs, he would report briefly on progress of current construction in Redwood Shores, <br />and it would not be necessary to call upon the various engineering representatives. He <br />advised that Dolphin Subdivision No. 1 was 9696 complete; Marlin No. 1 and No. 2 nearing <br />50905' completion; Peninsula Parkway 85%; Bridge 25%; Weather has been extremely favorable <br />and dewatering progressing; Belmont drain nearly completed; Parkway Fence approximately <br />50-60% completed. Recently completed were Neighborhood Park 1, Marine World Parkway <br />Lighting, Rockslope 2, Site Prep 6, Primary Fill 4 and Utilities Crossing. <br />He advised that a meeting has been scheduled for Thursday in San Francisco with DMJM <br />and the Corps of Engineers, the purpose of which is to provide additional planning <br />i <br />and technical material in response to additional questions the FHA had regarding levee <br />stability. It was intended that a report on that meeting would be submitted by next <br />Monday. (Memo 1/6/70) <br />To an inquiry regarding further communications from the Corps of Engineers or <br />Washington, D. C., City Manager advised that GOC Chairman John S. Monagan had responded <br />to Mayor Bury's letter, stating the situation unchanged, and that the Committee <br />intends to take no action pending receipt of requested reports from the Federal <br />agencies involved. The forthcoming meeting will be the next step in providing in- <br />formation to the Corps. <br />In reply to question regarding report on the Coast and Geodetic Survey strong motion <br />seismometers, he advised it had been indicated the report would be ready in about a <br />month, that he would follow up and advise Council. (Memo 1/6/70) Further, responding <br />to question concerning reactivation of the Seismic Review Board, he stated a draft re- <br />commendation has been drawn up and it was hoped to bring this to Council next Monday. <br />(Memo 1/6/70) <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Application of LORF DEVELOPMENT TO amend the Zoning Map to rezone <br />Property located at 480 Veterans Boulevard, being acreage of approximately 0.78 <br />
