<br /> CGM:bc:6/27/79 <br /> _It 7/2/79R <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> 1790 -Nl 1 G 1919 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1790 <br /> <br /> --------- <br /> INTERIM ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A MINIMUM BUILDING <br /> SETBACK LINE FOR PROPERTIES FRONTING ON EL CAMINO <br /> REAL IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended to this <br />Council upon the basis of the staff report for, the testimony <br />received at, and the recommendation of the Planning Director to, <br />the Planning Commission at its meeting of June 19, 1979 that this <br />Council adopt an interim zoning ordinance establishing a minimum <br />building setback line of five feet for properties fronting on <br />El Camino Real in the City of Redwood City; and <br />WHE REAS , the Planning Commission in connection with its <br />recommendation found that the establishment of a minimum five foot <br />building setback would protect and promote public safety, public <br />health and general welfare, would permit an adequate review of <br />the Special Area Plan for El Camino Real which is presently in the <br />process of preparation that will relate, in part, to building set- <br />backs on El Camino Real, would permit property owners whose property <br />fronts on El Camino Real to continue to develop their property in <br />accordance with existing zoning without a reduction in the type <br />or intensity of use of such property, would be in conformance with <br />and in furtherance of the General Plan of the City, and would be in <br />conformance with recent and proposed development of property fronting <br />on El Camino Real; and <br />WHE REAS , Section 1.5 of the Zoning Ordinance permits, in part, <br />the City to utilize the provisions of Chapter 4 (commencing with <br />Section 65800) of Title 7 of the Government Code when such provisions <br />are adopted by ordinance; and <br />WHE REAS , Section 65858 of the Government Code (which is con- <br />tained within the aforementioned Chapter 4) provides a procedure <br />for the adoption of an interim zoning ordinance; <br /> , 79 0 <br /> ...._.. ~.. <br /> 1 <br />
