CGM:yc:9/6/78 ORIGINAL 1 763 SEP 18 1978 ORDINANCE NO. 1763 --------- - - AN ORDINANCE CONDITIONALLY FIXING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY TO BE RAISED BY TAXATION UPON THE TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS REVENUE TO CARRY ON THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF SAID CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1978-1979, TO MAINTAIN THE PUBLIC LIBRARY OF SAID CITY DURING SAID FISCAL YEAR, TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THE RETIREMENT PLAN, AND FIXING AND LEVYING THE TAX RATE THEREFOR THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION l. GENERAL TAX REVENUE REQUIRED. The total amount of money to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property within the City of Redwood City to provide revenue to meet the general municipal expenses and to carryon the various departments of said City for the fiscal year July 1, 1978 - June 30, 1979; to maintain the public library of said City during said fiscal year; and to provide funds for the City's contribution to the retirement plan voted at the municipal election on April 9, 1940; is hereby fixed at the total sum of Four Million Two Hundred Fifty-one Thousand Four Hundred Twelve Dollars ($4,251,412) . SECTION 2. REVENUE DETAIL AND DISTRICTS. The following general and special tax rates for the areas hereinafter set forth are hereby levied and fixed, for the fiscal year July 1, 1978 - June 30, 1979, to raise the total revenues set forth in Section 1 hereof. (a) Two Million Seven Hundred two Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy-two Dollars ($2,702,972) to meet the general municipal expenses during said fiscal year and for deposit in the General Fund of said City, and the general municipal tax rate therefor is hereby levied and fixed at $0.9243 on each One Hundred Dollars of the assessed value of all taxable property within the territorial limits of the City of Redwood City as said limits existed on March 1, 1978.
