<br /> DF.S:djk or'06/94 (092/37) <br /> o RIG I N A L <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 12208 <br /> <br /> ---------- - - <br /> RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS RELATING TO <br /> PREPARATION OF CANDIDATE'S STATEMENTS FOR MUNICIPAL <br /> ELECTIONS; AND RESCINDING ALL PRIOR REGULATIONS AND <br /> ENACTMENTS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH <br /> WHEREAS, Section 10012 of the California Elections Code <br /> authorizes the preparation of a candidate's statement for <br /> candidates for elective municipal offices; and <br /> WHEREAS, this Council desires to establish regulations <br /> governing the preparation of candidate's statements in accordance <br /> with said Section 10012; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS <br /> FOLLOWS: <br /> l. Authority. These regulations are enacted pursuant to <br /> the provisions of Section 10012 of the Elections Code of the <br /> State of California and shall govern the preparation of <br /> candidate's statements (hereinafter, the "Statements") for <br /> elective office for the City of Redwood City at General Municipal <br /> Elections and Special Municipal Elections held for such purpose. <br /> 2. Contents. The Statement may include the name, age and <br /> occupation of the candidate and a brief description of no more <br /> than 200 words of the candidate's education and qualifications <br /> expressed by the candidate himself or herself. The Statement <br /> shall not include party affiliation of the candidate, nor <br /> membership or activity in partisan political organizations. <br /> 3. Filing. The Statement shall be filed in the office of <br /> the City Clerk at the time the candidate's nomination papers are <br /> filed.
