Stangel <br />STUDY SESSION <br />CALL TO ORDER - 9:00 a.m. Mayor Greenalch presiding <br />ROLL CALL <br />1400 Broadway <br />Municipal Service Center <br />June 25, 1988 <br />7:30 p.m. <br />BUDGET STUDY SESSION <br />Councilmen present: Buchan, Bury, Claire, LaBerge, Murray, Stangel and <br />Mayor Greenalch <br />Councilmen absent: None <br />Officials and staff present: Smith, Schri cker, Hildebrand and all department <br />heads and major assistants <br />1988 -90 Annual Budget <br />Mayor Greenalch reminded Council members and others present that the purpose of <br />the session is for the City Council to review the proposed 1988 -90 Annual Budget <br />with City staff. <br />Revenue Projections <br />Director of Finance Ramchandani described sources of revenues and required <br />and general uses of the funds. <br />Human Services Assistance Program (page 2) <br />Rebecca Cooper, Executive Director, Friends for Youth, stated that her agency <br />had requested City support in the amount of $5,000 and nothing had been <br />recommended by the Housing and Human Concerns Committee (HHCC). She reported <br />the agency has been successful in wo rki ng with juvenile court referrals and <br />urged Council to contribute toward its support. In response to question, Fair <br />Oaks Community Center Coordinator Centeno said that she believes the request <br />for financial support was denied, because the HHCC did not want to fund a new <br />agency in view of the City's budget problems. <br />Kristin Anderson, Redwood City Child Care Consortium for School Age Child <br />Care, thanked Council for the $15,000 allocation recommended by HHCC and asked <br />that the allocation be increased to the $21,600 requested by the agency in <br />order that half a child care coordinator position might be funded. <br />Budget.
