JOINT POWERS PURCHASING AGREEMENT <br /> BETWEEN THE SEQUOIA UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT AND <br /> THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br /> This agreement, made and entered into this first day of July, 2001, by and <br />between the SEQUOIA UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT, hereinafter referred to <br />as "Sequoia District," and the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, hereinafter referred to as <br />"City". <br /> <br /> WITNESSETH: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the parties hereto provide services to their residents and <br />taxpayers within the same general area in the County of San Mateo, State of <br />California; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 5 of Division 7 of Title 1 of the Government Code, <br />comprising Sections 6500 through 6513 of said Code, authorizes public agencies to <br />enter into agreements for the joint exercise of powers which are common to the <br />parties of such agreement; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Sequoia District and the City are of the opinion that each <br /> party can effect certain economies by jointly providing for the purchase of office <br /> equipment, supplies, and services and custodial equipment, supplies and services <br /> directly from a vendor; <br /> <br /> <br />
