Prevailing Wage Rate Policy - (continued from 2/8/88) <br /> <br />(1402-14) <br /> <br />Reports: Executive Director 2/5/88 <br />Special Counsel 2/5/88 <br />General Counsel 3/4/88 <br /> <br />City Attorney/General Counsel Schricker outlined salient points and described cases <br />cited in his letter to Council of 3/4/88 describing city liability and legally <br />def ens i b 1 e pos iti O1S. <br /> <br />Tan Adams, attorney representing the Buildi ng Trades Council, cited situations <br />where the Prevailing Wage Rate has been implemented by a city and cited court cases <br />defending policy of IIbroad authority. II <br /> <br />Bob Gilmore, Representative, Building Trades Council, suggested there is a need for <br />Prevailing Wage Rate Policy to protect trades workers who live and want to ~rk in <br />thi s area. <br /> <br />Tan Thompson, Staff Manager, Associated General Contractors of California, <br />described problems of monitoring in the private sector, and of city government <br />liability. <br /> <br />Bill Botieff, President, W. B. Developma1t of San Carlos, expressed dismay at the <br />proliferation of rules and regu1atioos affecting contractors who do ~rk in Redwood <br />City. <br /> <br />Red ev. Study.
