Stangel <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CALL TO ORDER - 7:30 p.m., Mayor Claire presiding <br />September 14, 1987 <br />7:30 p.m. <br />Councilmen present: Britsch gi, Bury, Chandler, Greenalch, LaBerge, Stangel and <br />Mayor Claire <br />Councilmen absent: None <br />Officials and staff present: Smith, Schricker, Hildebrand and Ramchandani <br />Pawloski, Church, Schroedl, Patterson, Guardino, O'Brien <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - Councilwoman LaBerge <br />INVOCATION - Pastor Neville Arroues <br />1st Baptist Church <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES - August 24, 1987 <br />M /S: Chandler /Bury to accept the subject Minutes as submitted. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote, Mayor Claire abstaining <br />SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE DAY AND PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />1. Presentation of Matthew Turner Seaport Program <br />(15 Minutes) (101 -0217) <br />Thomas J. LeVell, Matthew Turner Seaport Project read his letter of September <br />14, 1987, to Council and a list of the proposed professional and other <br />persons on the support team. Mr. LeVell distributed copies of his letter, a <br />flyer and a sample letter for proposed use by the Mayor for endorsement of <br />the Project. He asked Council to endorse the Project. <br />Rick Anderson, Walnut Creek, member of the Shipwrights and Boatbuilders Union <br />of San Francisco, who is associated with the Project, urged support of it. <br />Michael Mangini, representing the Railway Historical Society, said that his <br />organization is working on restoration of a steam locomotive and some cars <br />with the goal of placing the equipment in a "living museum" such as that <br />proposed. <br />M I N U T E S <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />Board of Supervisors Chambers <br />401 Marshall Street <br />Reg.Mtg. <br />MINUTE BOOK NO. 47 9/14/87 <br />Page NO. 349 <br />
