Stangel <br />Regular Meeting <br />CALL TO ORDER - 7:30 p.m., Mayor Britschgi presiding <br />Board of Supervisors Chambers <br />401 Marshall Street <br />February 24, 1986 <br />7 :30 p.m. <br />Councilmen present: Bury, Chandler, Claire, Mosher, Rhodes, Stangel and <br />Mayor Britschgi <br />Councilmen absent: None <br />Officials and staff present: Smith, Schricker, Ramchandani, Hildebrand and <br />Addiego, Schroeter, Mott, Guardino, O'Brien, Patterson <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - Gerald Chandler <br />INVOCATION Reverend Daniel Vasquez <br />Open Door Community Church <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Mid -Year Budget Session 2/8/86 <br />City Council Meeting 2/10/86 <br />M /S: Chandler /Mosher to approve the subject Minutes as submitted. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote, Councilman Bury abstaining on the Minutes of <br />February 10, 1986. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />There being no objection, Mayor Britschgi ordered that an oral communication from <br />a representative of the recently flooded Friendly Acres area be heard out of <br />order at this time. <br />Bonnie Miller, 1224 Fifth Avenue, representing the residents and businesses in the <br />Fifth Avenue /Hoover Street flooded area read a statement regarding the damage <br />suffered there in the recent flooding. Ms. Miller urged that construction of the <br />planned Fifth Avenue Pump Station and Bayf ront Canal Project be commenced as soon <br />as possible, noting that the projects have been given the highest priority. <br />City Manager Smith described the status of the projects, noting that those in the <br />area who do not suffer flooding are reluctant to participate in the assessment <br />district. Mr. Smith reported that jurisdictions involved have made commitments, <br />and are currently meeting on the matter which has a high priority.
