Community Development Director 7/9/86 <br />b. Community Development Director 7/17/86 <br /> <br />In response to questions, Community Development Director Schroeter said that <br />while the developer may prefer market rate housing units, it is just a <br />preference, and the developer understands the requirements of redevelopment <br />areas; that the proposed developer, Crow Western, does not consider <br />retail/office development in the Main Street area to be wise in view of the <br />amount of vacant small retail space nearby; and that Trammel Crow has <br />considerable experience in constructing residential development and has <br />received one of the ten 50-year commendations from the Urban Land Inst itute <br />as being the best in the United States in the field. <br /> <br />Reports: <br /> <br />In further response to questions, Mr. Schroeter said that development <br />proposals for the property were not presented, since the City asked for <br />Requests for Qualifications, and a negotiation period will occur while <br />spec ific plans are developed. <br /> <br />M/S: Chand ler/LaBerge to accept proposa 1 of Crow-We stern ColllJany and to <br />direct staff to prepare documents for exclusive right to negotiate. <br /> <br />Carried by majority voice vote which Chairman Claire determined to be <br />4 to 2. <br /> <br />Redev.Agency <br />7/21/86 <br /> <br />MINUTE ORDER NO.
