Public Hearing - Final Application for <br />Eighth Year Community Development Block <br />Grant Program <br /> <br />Report of City Manager and Planning Director <br />4/20/82 <br /> <br />Mayor Stangel declared open at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Affidavits of publication of Notice of <br />I Hearing reported on file. <br /> <br />Robert Bennett, Center for Independence of the Disabled (CID), requested <br />$5,000 for funding housing modifications for low income disabled people be <br />included in the subject Application. Mr. Bennett said the modifications <br />would be for people not eligible for the Handyperson Program, but who need <br />minor modifications such as ramps to permit mobility. <br /> <br />MIS: Bury/Rhodes to include $2,500 in the CDBG Application for the housing <br />modification program for the disabled, the funds to come from the <br />Contingency Reserve. <br /> <br />City Manager Smith pointed out that low interest loans for housing <br />rehabilitation are available to disabled persons. <br /> <br />Mr. Bennett said that many low income disabled persons are renters and are <br />not eligible for loans. <br /> <br />Reg.Mtg. <br />4/26/82 <br /> <br />.~~~ <br />
