<br />DES:djk 04/29/93 (075/34) <br />0 RIG I N A L 5/10/93 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />11981 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PURCHASE OF SATELLITE RECEIVING <br />ANTENNA AND INTERACTIVE VIDEODISC DELIVERY SYSTEMS AND <br />AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF PURCHASE DOCUMENTS IN <br />CONNECTION THEREWITH <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.76 of the Redwood City Code, <br /> <br />this Council has suspended the requirements of Article VII of <br /> <br />Chapter 2 of the Code of the City of Redwood City relating to <br /> <br />competitive bidding for the hereinafter described purchase; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Police <br /> <br />Department <br /> <br />requires <br /> <br />one <br /> <br />Satellite <br /> <br />Receiving Antenna and two Interactive Videodisc Delivery Systems <br /> <br />to facilitate the training of police personnel; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Commission <br /> <br />on <br /> <br />Peace <br /> <br />Officer <br /> <br />Standards <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />Training <br /> <br />("POST") , <br /> <br />adopted <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />reimbursement program <br /> <br />for police <br /> <br />agencies <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />provide <br /> <br />every <br /> <br />police <br /> <br />department with <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />Satellite <br /> <br />Receiving Station and an Interactive Videodisc Delivery System <br /> <br />for the foregoing purpose; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, POST will reimburse the City for the cost of one <br /> <br />satellite <br /> <br />station once <br /> <br />it <br /> <br />is <br /> <br />purchased <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />installed <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />one <br /> <br />interactive videodisc delivery system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />this Council desires <br /> <br />to approve <br /> <br />the purchase of <br /> <br />said equipment in an amount not to exceed Fourteen Thousand One <br /> <br />Hundred Sixty-eight and 61/100 <br /> <br />Dollars <br /> <br />($14,168.61) ; <br /> <br />provided, <br /> <br />however, <br /> <br />that prior to June <br /> <br />30, <br /> <br />1993, <br /> <br />the City Manager shall <br /> <br />execute <br /> <br />all <br /> <br />appropriate <br /> <br />documentation <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />obtain <br /> <br />reimbursement <br /> <br />from <br /> <br />POST <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />amount <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Seven <br /> <br />Thousand <br /> <br />Three <br /> <br />Hundred <br /> <br />Forty-eight Dollars ($7,348.00); <br />
