<br />aM <br /> <br />MUTUAL THREAT ZONE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE REDWOOD CITY <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY <br />AND FIRE PROTECTION <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this date, ~bt;. ,J..ç¿, /qqr, <br />by and between the Redwood City Fire Department of Sa Mateo County, <br />hereinafter referred to as Redwood City Fire Department, and the California <br />Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, hereinafter referred to as CDF. This <br />agreement shall supersede the "Wildland-Interface Presuppression Plan for the <br />Emerald lake Hills" dated 4/16/90. <br /> <br />WITNESSETH: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the parties hereto are geographically located in proximity to each <br />other in the County of San Mateo, California. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is to the mutual advantage and benefit of the parties that each of <br />the parties agree to render to the other supplemental assistance though their <br />respective fire agencies in the event of fire, or other local fire agency related <br />emergencies of a type common to both parties not covered by or within the <br />scope of the California Office of Emergency Services and Civil Defense Master <br />Mutual Aid Agreement but arising out of convenience rather than out of <br />extraordinary necessity. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of their mutual covenants, the parties <br />hereto agree as follows: <br /> <br />I. OPERATIONAL RESPONSE PLAN FOR MUTUAL THREAT <br />ZONE AGREEMENT: <br /> <br />The staff of both agencies shall mutually agree upon an operational <br />response plan. This plan shall include the areas of response, <br />guidelines governing response to an emergency, jurisdictional <br />responsibility, communications, dispatch, and resource availability, <br />among other items. <br /> <br />II. COMMAND AUTHORITY: <br /> <br />A. Responsible Jurisdiction to have Command Authority <br /> <br />When either Redwood City Fire Department or CDF responds into <br />the neighboring jurisdiction under this agreement, the fire officer of <br />the responsible jurisdiction shall be in command of all staffing and <br /> <br />1 <br />
