The Secretary was directed to
acknowledge the- letter from the Chamber of Commerce, thanking
them, and advising them that when the proposed trophies, medals,
etc., had been purchased. the commission would present the bills
to the Chamber of Commerce for their approval.

City Manager Dimmitt introduced Mr. Arthur Ryan, who
presented the W. P. A. Recreation set-up and the contract offered
by his bureau. Mr. Ryan stated that in order for the City to re-
ceive the federally supported playground workers it is necess~y
that the city spend about $272.50 per month for supervision, mater-
ials, supplies, transpo~tation (gas), utilities, telephone and
rental. He explained, however, that a large proportion of this
$272.50 would be liq~idated on paper, such as a certain sum would
be allowable for rental in cases where the school grounds, city
owned buildings, etc., were used, and any money that the City is
already spending for Recreation, so that it would work out that
the City would only have to spend about $75.00 per month in add-
ition to what it is now spending, the larger portion of which
would be for materials, supplies, and transportatiQn (gas). The
City would be entitled to use for its recreational program at the

'-

.
