<br />6 <br /> <br />--,~.. <br /> <br />MiNUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY RECREATION & PARK COMMISSION <br />CITY HALL ' , <br />Tuesday, February,8, 1938, 1:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />City Manager Chas. L. Dimmitt, all members of'the Conun- <br />ission, Recreation Director Alfred Morton, and Super in- <br />tendent'of Parks, Roger Walsh.- <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Millington. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and appro- <br />ved, upon motion made, seconded, and carried. <br /> <br />Chairman Millington reported a letter sent by the Conun- <br />ission to City Manager Dimmitt, in accordance with a motion passed <br />at the previous meeting regarding additional" grandstands at Hawes <br />Park, and announced that the City Council had acted favorably on <br />this recommendation at its meeting of January 17. <br /> <br />Mr. Morton was called upon to itemize the expenses that <br />would be involved in connection with the proposed Harbor Swim and <br />the Cross Country Run, which were as follows: <br /> <br />A. A. U ..Sanction for Cros~ -~ountry Run - - - $ 5. 00 <br />A. A. U. Sanction for Harbor - -Swim - - - - - - 5.00 <br />Official Ribbons - - --- - - - - - - - ~ - - - 6.00 <br />Towels for Harbor Swim - - - - - - - - - - - - 5.00 <br />Awards for Harbor Swim <br />(1 Trophy and <br />Awards for Cross Country <br />(1 Trophy and <br /> <br />, -. <br /> <br />6 Medals - - - - -- <br />Run <br />6 Medals - - - - - - <br /> <br />25.00 <br /> <br />25.00 <br /> <br />Total - - - - $71.00 <br /> <br />These events had been discussed at the previous meeting <br />_and Mr. Hagan made a motion, seconded by Mrs. McAtee, and carried <br />unanimously, that the Commission write a letter in accordance with <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />the previous discussion to the Chamber of Commerce, recommending <br />to them that they in turn recommend tc;>, the City Council the ex- <br />penditure of $71.00 which would be necessary to hold the Cross <br />Country Run and Harbor Swim as outlined above, from the City <br />Advertising Fund, which is handled through the recommendation <br />of the Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />'-... <br /> <br />~~~~---------- -~-~- <br /> <br />------------- <br /> <br />~-~---- -- ---~-~ <br /> <br />---- "--~----..- ,-- ~...._..- <br /> <br />'* <br />
