Ab.sent: Mr. Millingto.n, Mr. Hagan, Miss Stile.s,. <br /> <br />Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as corrected. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br /> <br />From the Work Projects Admini.s~.ra.ti,on, in answer to protest <br /> <br />- - . . , <br /> <br /> <br />against enforced furlo~s ~f workers. ~e letter was ordered filed. <br /> <br />. " <br /> <br /> <br />From the Rosenberg Foundation". ~.enying a grant. <br />was ordered filed. <br /> <br />The letter <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS: <br /> <br />The matter of a baseball scoreboard at Sequoia Union High <br />School was tabled at the suggestion of Mr. Morton. The Oleson <br />Motors baseball team may be discontinued, he said. <br /> <br />Mr. Morton reported.a San Mateo group was interested in leas- <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />ing the pistol 'range on Harbor Blvd. <br /> <br />MSC that the. commission recommend the lease of the range, at <br />terms to be set by t~e city manager, with the proviso that the <br />city police department be allowed to use the range for target <br />practice. <br /> <br />Mr. Eva reporte~ that the Mod~l Airplane ClUb, as initiated <br />by the Redwood City Exchange Club, was now functioning with Char- <br />les prelsnik as adviser. <br /> <br />Considerable discussion was held but no action was taken on <br />the question of the Musicians' Union and its refusal to sanction <br />the use of the city band in the July 4 parade. The commission ex- <br />pressed itself as in favor of a parade, regardless of whether the <br />band is or is. not allowed to participate. <br /> <br />, .. <br /> <br /> <br />The matter of lighting school property for night recreation <br />use was tabled until July pending a reply ~rom the city attorney <br />on ~e legality of spending city funds on school ~operty. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Mr. Morton was authorized to go ahead with preparation of a <br />delinquency chart, showing the areas in the city giving the most <br />tro~le in juvenile deli~uency. <br /> <br />~, <br /> <br />,..-- , <br />
