The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to order by Chairman James Knecht at 8;15 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Veterans Memorial Building, On roll call the following were present Chairman James Knecht, Commissioners; Catherine Brennan, Louise Tornell, Wally Harder, Maurice Schut a, and Alyn Beals. Noted absent was commissioner Ray Lunny. Also present were staff members Red Morton, recreation director and Pasco -Balzarini I park superi ntendent. M, S. C, that the minutes of March 2 be approved~as mailed. ... Dick Wilkinson, Planning director WaS present to help clear the thinking of the commission on 1Nhat the city has planned or hopes to plan as far as parks and recreational facilities are concerned, , C, Trifeletti, 3611 Brandy Rock Way, Hugh Roßaroen, 3757 Farm Hill Blvd. were present to protest the parking lot at Stulsaft Park, Dick Wilkinson explained to the commission what was being planned for Stulsaft Park. A lengthy discussion followed on Stulsaft Park little le~ue field and parki~ lot. M. S. C. - Commissioners Beals and Tornell that a letter be written to City Mane.ger recommending that plans for the Little League diamond at Stulsaft Park be abandoned and be deyeloped as a multi purpose area on the site of mercury mine in Stulsaft Park. Chairman Knecht's thtnking on this development was negative. '" M, S. C. Commissioners Beals~ and Schutz that a letter be written I to the City Manager and City Council asking to have~ the master' plan of Stulsaft Park checked as far as the parking situation and possibly revising the parking a rea designated. Also, presønt at this time was Don Delaney, 37~ Fam Hill Blvd. wo spoke on the pa~ing situ~tion as it is now at Stulsaft Park. . " Correspondence received was read. Two letters from City Manager ~swerin~ co~issions letters on Union Cemetery ~d Easter Cross. Chairman Knecht appointed the commissionßrs to different projects 60 work on during the coming year. Yacht Harbor, Harder - Stulsaft Park and Beautification areas. Lunny and Schut~ - Fun - After Fifty and scouting, Tornell - 'domen I s Club and Rose Garden" -Brennan, Service Clubs, Chamber of Commerce and downtown ~rea, BeR,ls Little Leaglw,- Co~unity Park and Schqols, Scootz, also, ~hai~an Knecht asked Pasco Balzarini and Red ~orton for a hour each month to talk over with him any problems they might have.
