Commissioners <br />present: Louise Torne11, A1yn Beals, Doris Thompson and Robert Whitmore. <br />Noted absent: James Knecht and Maurice Schutz. Also present: Alfred <br />Morton" Pasco Bà1zarini, Don Dimitratos and Mrs. Jean Travis approved <br />as a visitor. <br /> <br />Mrs. Doris Thompson was welcomed to the Commission and a committee of <br />Loui se Torne11 , Dori s Thomp'son and Alfred Morton was appointed to <br />arrange for a retirement dinner honoring former Commissioner Catherine <br />Brennen. <br /> <br />Letter from Mr. Neal was read informing the Commission that the Council <br />had authorized the abondonment and sale of Anamor Park. <br /> <br />Old Business <br /> <br />II .81J1 Jj I I <br /> <br />A report by Mr. Balzarini that Fleishman Park was 9~~ completed. <br /> <br />A report by Mr. Morton that Myrtle Street Parking was completed. - <br /> <br />A progress report on Baird Property carried over to next meeting. <br /> <br />A progress report was gi ven by Mr. MOrtön~:on the Fr iend1y Acres Rec- <br />reational Building p1anà and location was discussed. No formal action <br />was taken. Future planning to be carried on the agenda. <br /> <br />Rose Garden to be carried on the agenda. <br /> <br />A progress report was given by Mr. Balzarini on the beautification <br />of Community Park. <br /> <br />A report by Mr. Morton on speed traps on roads at Community Park <br /> <br />. <br />was g~ven. <br /> <br />A request was submitted by Mr. Morton ~o the State Dept. of Recreation <br />for suggestions and help in solving some of our local recreation and <br />Little League problems. <br /> <br />New Business <br /> <br />l v <br /> <br />A report by Mr. Balzarini was given and a detailed planning map was <br />furnished to the'Commission on the beautification of Stafford Park. <br />This plan was discussed at some length and it was felt by some Comm- <br />issioners that this type of park would do away with one of our only <br />remaining large open play areas. Mr. Balzarini stated that these plans <br />were only a suggestion and were submitted as something to be studied <br /> <br />and worked on by ilie Co~ission as a Æans of meeti~ ~e needs of the <br />people for this kind of park in this area. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
