<br />.. <br /> <br />9 <br /> <br />MinUFes of <br />Regular Meeting of Park & Récréation Commdssion <br />March 3,1965 ,- 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman James Knecht at 7:30 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />'-../ - <br /> <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Commissioners <br />James Knecht, Alyn Beals, Robert Whitmore, Doris Thompson, <br />Jack Stuart, Louise Tornell, Recreation Director Red Morton, <br />Assistant Park Superintendent William Shewry, and Clerk <br />Sandra Kuhn. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />Noted absent and excused: <br /> <br />Pasco Balzarini, Park Supt. <br />(Illness) <br /> <br />Minutes were approved with corrections as noted~ <br /> <br />-. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> <br />Letter from Maurice Schutz thanking the Commission for their <br />kindness in presenting him wi th:.a going-away gift and <br />luncheon. <br /> <br />Letter from the Redwood Parents Nursery School to request per- <br />mission for four or five of their members to attend March <br />3rd meeting of park & Recreation Commission, for the matter <br />of discussing two items pertaining to their program for 2- <br />year ,olds, which is conducted at the Recreation Center in <br />Redwood City. <br /> <br />Letter from City Manager giving complaint from a Mrs. Abrams, <br />that the Hetch-Hetchy right-of-way and surrounding area is <br /> <br /> <br />. ' <br /> <br />ln a bad state. <br /> <br />Letter addressed to the Mayor on behalf of property owners living <br />- on Ala~da and Pernside rega~i~~t~~t~y ~ter line. <br /> <br />PERSONAL APPEARANCES:- <br /> <br />\.-i <br /> <br />The President of Redwood Nursery School, Mrs. Bercall and two <br />members, Shiela Pangburn and Ma~y K. Spencer appeared re- <br />presenting the Redwood Nursery School regarding plans being <br />proposed for the playground area. They questioned,whether <br />they could be included in these plans. Discussion on ~til- <br />izing an outside play area. Mrs. Pangburn explained the <br />main purpose of the school, stating they have about 65 mem- <br />bers. Red Morton stated the Recreation Dept. plans to put <br />a tiny-tot playground equipment in the sand area. Discuss- <br />ion held on area when it rains or when watering is done. <br /> <br />- - -",.. ,_.." <br /> <br />- - , , , <br />
