<br />Chairman Schenck proposed that the Commission consider changing the <br />meeting date of the Park and Recreation Commission to the 2nd Wednesday <br />of the month instead of the 1st Wednesday. -This would provide more <br />time be~een close of ~nth period and rçorting deadline for reports <br />to be completed. A resolution is necessary to change meeting date of <br />Commission. <br /> <br /> <br />ZOO <br /> <br />Commission and staff will be discussing the 1973-74 budget in the <br />near future. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The status of the recommendations on the revenue sharing monies will <br />be reviewed at the next meeting of the Commission. <br /> <br />Commission thanked Marsha Magness, Planner, for her report on Hetch <br />Hetchy. The funding for this project will be considered as part of <br />the Capital Improvement evaluation process. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m. <br /> <br />REDWOOD CITY PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />Wednesday, February 7,1973 <br />- 7 :30 p.m. <br />Community Activities Building <br />1400 Roosevelt Avenue <br />Redwood City, California 90461 <br /> <br />The regular business meeting was opened at 7:35 p.m. by Chairman Larry Schenck. <br /> <br />Those present: Chair~n Larry Schenck, Commissioners Frank Guida, Reuben Haynes, <br />James Knecht, William Warren and Joanne Weintraub. Absent: Commissioner Diane <br />Pound (birth of son). <br /> <br />Staff present: Max C. Weeks, Director of Parks and Recreation, Pasco Balzarini, <br />Park Superintendent, Bill Paulson, Acting Recreation Director, Marsha Magness, <br />Planner, and Lee Halteman, Secretary. <br /> <br />Also present: Mr. John Sue (of Ribera & Sue), 21 children and adult residents <br />bordering the Hetch Hetchy right of way. <br /> <br />Minutes of the January 10,1973, regular adjourned meeting, on motion of Frank Guida, <br />seconded by Reuben Haynes, were approved as mailed with the following correction <br />~de by Marsha Magness: first page, third from last line, "Marsha Miller" should be <br />Marsha Magness; page 2, line 9, delete "or the Mag:Jr of San Francisco and"', and, line <br />10, delete "not by" and begin line 10 with "on request of....". <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Sue displayed renderings of the park master plan and Phase I which was the type <br />of treatment that could evolve if the stream were culverted. Budgeting was dis- <br />cussed re turfing and irrigation, pathways system, and grading. In the plan red- <br />woods and many'other trees were saved. Other tree plantings were developed such as <br />redwoods around the Red Morton Memorial. Mr. Sue recommended development of a shade <br />grove area and fast growing broad leaf evergreens and conifers and also flowers and <br />shrubs for color during all seasons. Commissioners and Mr. Weeks were interested <br />that parking needs be met using a limited amount of park area and this will be <br />studied further. MI. Sue said that the fencing for Mitchell Field does not have an <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM I.
