<br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />RED MORTON FUND RAISING MEETING <br /> <br />MINUTES OF MARCH 1, 1995 <br /> <br />CO MMI S S lONERS PRESENT: Chairperson 5 W 0 pe I Commissioners Davis I <br />Hughes, Nordness, Slusser and Truscelli <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Morton <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: Members of community <br /> <br />The special meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order by Chairperson Susan Swope at 7:30pm in Room 5 of the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />ITEM 1 - NEWCOMER BRIEFING <br /> <br />Chairperson Swope briefed the members of the audience on the background <br />of the fund raising effort of the Park and Recreation Commission for the new <br />Red Morton Center. Civic Cultural Commissioner Betty Moran announced <br />that Family Arts Day will be held in July at the Community Activities <br />Building and the Concert in the Park series will begin in June. Those events <br />could be an opportunity for the Fund Raising Committee to operate an <br />information booth. She will provide the schedule of the Concert in the Park <br />series to the Commission. . <br /> <br />ITEM 2 .. UPDATE ON PROGRESS <br /> <br />Chairperson Swope gave an update on the progress of the fund raising efforts <br />thus far and discussed the need to follow a timeline which would coincide <br />with the construction of the building. The Commissioners discussed the <br />proposed brick program and when they would be needed for installation by <br />the contractor. It was suggested that another type of tile be installed inside the <br />facility rather than the outside bricks. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - SUGGESTED CONTRIBUTION LEVELS <br /> <br />The Commissioners discussed and finalized the contribution levels for the <br />fund raising project and the brick pricing. <br />
