Public Hearing - Proposed abandonment of public walkway, <br />3700 Block between Farm Hill Boulevard and Country Club <br />Drive (Per RESOLUTION NO. 9232; Report of City Manager <br />9/20/82) <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Addiego referred to a wall map of the subject <br />neighborhood and replied to questions concerning disposition of the walkway <br />property proposed to be abandoned and removal of the street light. <br /> <br />Mayor Stangel declared the public hearing open at 7:400 p.m. <br /> <br />Affidavits of Publication of Notice of Hearing and of Posting reported on <br />fil e. <br /> <br />Carol Swinton, 932 Stony Hill Road, stated she opposed closing of the <br />walkway because of its convenience for bus connections on Farm Hill <br />Boulevard. Ms. Swinton acknowledged she would not like to have the walkway <br />adjacent to her property. <br /> <br />Edward Nordness, 3747 Country Club Drive, petitioner requesting abandonment <br />of walkway which is adjacent to his property, referred to the April 27, 1982 <br />request from the four adjacent property owners that the walkway be <br />abandoned, citing bad experiences with users of the walkway. Mr. Nordness <br />said that the petitioners are willing to pay for concrete removal, fences <br />and landscaping, but object to paying $800.00 for removal of the street <br />light and have no objection to its remaining. <br /> <br />Sam Peterson, 991 Stony Hill Road, 22 year resient of the neighborhood, said <br />that the alley is not safe, the neighborhood has changed in that there are <br />few young children, and that he is in favor of closing the alley at this <br />time. <br /> <br />Reg.Mtg. <br />10/25/82 <br /> <br />~~ ~~~- - ~~~~-~~,'""-------~c ~ - ~---- ~-- --~ <br /> <br />- -~ -~ ----~-- -~_c ~ -~ --- <br />
