~ .. ,-.. - '1". .. . . , . 53, ~ REDWOOD CITY PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11,1987 COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairman Anderson, Commissioners Buchan, Kingsford-Smith, Mortensen, Nordness and Swope COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None GUESTS PRESENT: Tom Jordan, Senior Affairs Commission STAFF PRESENT: Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director Griffiths, Park and Recreation Superintendent Hartman and Secretary Frei Chairman Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. minutes of February 11, 1987 were approved as submitted. The ITEM I - 50TH ANNIVERSARY - JUDGE FOR ARTS & CRAFTS SHOW MAY 15 The Arts & Crafts Show will be held on May 15 in Red Morton Community Park and the Sequoia Arts Group has requested that one of the Park and Recreation Commissioners serve as a judge. Commissioner Buchan volunteered. ITEM 2 - HERITAGE TREE ORDINANCE REPORT A report was drafted by Commissioner Swope explaining the Commissioners' feelings on the heritiage tree ordinance and the situation at 111 Hilltop Drive. All of the Commissioners signed the letter which will be submitted to City Council along with the staff report when Council makes a decision on the Gates/Naverez appeal. ITEM 3 - RED MORTON PARKING LOT MEETING Chairman Tom Jordan of the Senior Affairs Commission expressed his appreciation of the cooperation of the Commissions in working out the differences surrounding the parki.ng lot project and felt that much was accomplished at the joint meeting. A solution was arrived at which all parties seem to accept. Mr. Jordan wanted the Park and Recreation Commission to know that the Senior Affairs Commission did not intend to further pursue additional parking. ITEM 4 - PARK TOUR The annual City Council/Park and Recreation Commissioners Park Tour will be April 25, 1987 at 9:00 a.m. and a short Commission meeting will be held before at 8:15 a.m. ,,:1
