<br />f <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2000 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Davis, Commissioners Joseph, <br />LaBerge, Swope, Truscelli, and Walsh <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Morton <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: Assistant Recreation Center Supervisor Adilah Haqq- <br />Smith, Recreation Manager Linda Griffith, Assistant <br />Recreation Center Supervisor Diane McIntyre, Vince <br />Truscelli <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Gary Hover, Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order by Chairperson Don Davis at 7:32pm in Room 1 at the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The minutes were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />CORRESPON DENCE <br /> <br />The following correspondence was received: <br /> <br />-An invitation to a Christmas Party at the Shores Dogs Park on Saturday, <br />December 2 from 11:00am-3:00pm. <br />-A newsletter from the Santa Clara Audibon Society <br />-An invitation to the Boards and Commission Dinner to be held on Sunday, <br />December 3 from 5: 30-9: OOpm at Mistral Restaurant. <br /> <br />ITEM 1 - UPDATE ON SKATE PARK <br /> <br /> <br />Assistant Recreation Center Supervisor Adilah Haqq-Smith provided the <br />Com missioners with a history of the skate park project, up to the present. <br />She explained that in July 2000, Manager Julie Hannon wrote a letter to the <br />residents of the proposed location and the NFL Alumni Association asking for <br />the Association to amend their lease to allow us use of the land behind their <br />facility. She announced that the NFL Alumni Association has signed the <br />agreement with the stipulation that the 44 feet of property behind the <br />building would still be theirs. The agreement will go to City Council to be <br />approved in December. <br />
