<br />~ -- <br /> <br />~ ;¡ ~ <br />", <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 28, 2004 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Yapp, Commissioners Davis, <br />Joseph, Morton, Swope, Truscelli, and Walsh <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> <br />TEEN ADVISORY BOARD PRESENT: Ronald Lau <br /> <br />YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD PRESENT: Danielle Abaya <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: Vince Truscelli <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Director Corinne Centeno, Superintendents Gary Hover <br />and Chris Beth, Recreation Supervisor Jodi Shepard, Secretary Denise <br />Monroe <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order by Chairperson Bob Yapp at 7:30pm in Room 1 of the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The minutes of the November meeting and December Study Session were <br />approved as mailed. <br /> <br />CORRESPON DENCE <br /> <br />The Commissioners received a copy of a letter written by Chairperson Yapp <br />to Beth Beach regarding the Redwood Shores lagoons. This letter was done <br />at the request of the Commission at their December meeting. <br /> <br />ITEM 1 -PRESENTATION FROM YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD AND TEEN <br />ADVISORY BOARD <br /> <br />Youth Advisory Board (YAB) member Danielle Abaya gave an update of <br />activities of their board which included: Kris Kringle Crafts booth at 'Tis the <br />Season, PAL Toy Drive gift wrapping, Martin Luther King celebration, and <br />working with on YAB website. The YAB will be attending a youth conference <br />on March 6 and are planning a teen dance in March with the Teen Advisory <br />Boa rd. <br /> <br />Teen Advisory Board (TAB) member Ronald Lau stated their board has been <br />working on the teen website which will be linked to the City's website. Topics <br />for the website include: Education, Editorials, Movie Review, Sports, <br /> <br />
