Commissioner <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />Swope volunteered to be the Commission representative on the Fleishman <br />Park Renovation Committee not the Synthetic Turf Committee. The minutes <br />of the March meeting were approved as corrected. ' <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />There was no correspondence. ' <br /> <br />ITEM 1 - PRESENTATION FROM COMMUNITY SERVICES MANAGER <br />LIN DA GRIFFITH <br /> <br />Community Services Manager Linda Griffith, and Recreation Supervisor Bruce <br />Utecht made a presentation regarding the Veterans Memorial Senior Center <br />(VMSC). A Power Point presentation highlighted the commitment of mission <br />and goals for the Community Services Division as well as statistics regarding <br />the facility and its programs. Manager Griffith spoke about the 450 <br />'volunteers who help at the VMSC; number of visits at the facility; <br />partnerships with 45 local, State and National organizations; and the <br />Veterans Memorial Senior Center Advisory Council (VMSAC) consisting of <br />representatives from 15 senior organizations. Manager Griffith noted the <br />VMSAC bingo program brings in approximately $350,000 per year which goes <br />back into the Senior Center to pay for things such as the nutrition program, <br />computer lab, kitchen equipment and furniture for the facility. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />, .," ',' <br /> <br />.
