JL J- u <br /> <br />AUG 1 3 19YU <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 11150 ADDING <br />ELECTION TO BE SUBJECT TO EMPLOYEES' MEDICAL AND <br />HOSPITAL CARE ACT WITH RESPECT TO MEMBERS OF SAN MATEO <br />COUNTY FIRE FIGHTERS, INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE <br />FIGHTERS, LOCAL 2400 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Government Code Section 22850.3 provides that a <br /> <br />local agency contracting with the Public Employees' Retirement <br /> <br />System <br /> <br />( II PERS " ) <br /> <br />may <br /> <br />elect, <br /> <br />upon <br /> <br />proper <br /> <br />application, <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />participate under the Public Employees' Medical and Hospital Care <br /> <br />Act with respect to only specifically designated recognized <br /> <br />employee organizations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City, hereinafter referred to <br /> <br />as "Public Agency", is a local agency contracting with PERS; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Public Agency desires to obtain for the members of <br /> <br />the San Mateo County Fire Fighters, International Association of <br /> <br />Fire Fighters, Local 2400 and annuitants of Public Agency, the <br /> <br />benefits of the aforesaid Act, and to accept the liabilities and <br /> <br />obligations of an employer under the Act and Regulations <br /> <br />implementive thereof; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. This Council does hereby elect, for and on behalf of <br /> <br />the City of Redwood City (defined hereinabove as "Public Agency") <br /> <br />to be subject to the provisions of the Public Employees' Medical <br /> <br />and Hospital Care Act (Govt. C. ~~22751 et seq.) with respect to <br /> <br />members of the above-identified employee organization. <br /> <br />2. The employer's contribution for each employee who is a <br />
