LIBRE will accomplish this goal by supporting and training community-based
organizations that serve immigrants about eligibility for safety net services and dispel myths
about the effects of such services on their immigration status. LIBRE will develop and provide
outreach materials for community partners to distribute to their communities. Finally, through
LASSMC, LIBRE will assist clients who need legal advocacy to access safety net services.
FOCC is a City program that provides safety net services to individuals and families in
Redwood City, North Fair Oaks, Woodside, Atherton, and Portola Valley.
This Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") affirms the commitment of FOCC and
LIBRE to work together to assist San Mateo County residents, with an emphasis on low-income
immigrant individuals and families for the term of this MOU, which is October 1, 2017 through
September 30, 2018.
II. OBJECTIVE
The objective of this MOU is:
A. To increase the FOCC's ability to assist individuals and families in its community to apply
for safety net benefits; and
B. To contract with FOCC to assist immigrant individuals and families to apply for safety net
benefits, to provide education and outreach to promote its services, and to refer individuals and
families who need legal assistance to the appropriate LIBRE partner.
III. ROLE OF THE CITY AND LIBRE
A. FOCC obligations:
1.
