06/11/2018 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15670 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY APPROVING TWO REIMBURSABLE LETTERS OF AGREEMENT IN <br />A TOTAL ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $11,858.10 WITH THE STATE OF <br />CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL FOR <br />REIMBURSABLE TRAFFIC CONTROL SERVICES SUPPORTING THE <br />PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS AND ESTIMATE (PS&E) PHASE FOR THE <br />101/84 INTERCHANGE PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, the US 101 — Woodside Road (State Route 84) interchange and <br />surrounding intersections regularly exceed their capacity, causing queuing onto the <br />freeway and on local streets; are challenging to navigate for people who walk or ride a <br />bicycle along Woodside Road; and generally do not meet the operational and safety <br />needs of the City of Redwood City, and <br />WHEREAS, the City proposes to address the recurring congestion and <br />operational and safety deficiencies (the "Project'), and <br />WHEREAS, the City has started the Plans, Specifications and Estimate ("PS&E") <br />phase of the project and certain related field investigation activities require traffic control <br />support by the State of California Department of California Highway Patrol ("CHP"); and <br />WHEREAS, the City is required to enter into reimbursable services agreements <br />for each of Fiscal Year 2018 and Fiscal Year 2019 with CHP to provide the necessary <br />traffic control support services (collectively, the "Reimbursable Services Agreements"); <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed Reimbursable Services Agreements have been <br />reviewed by City staff and have been determined to be fair and reasonable in both <br />scope and cost; and <br />ATTY/RESO.0045/CC RESO APPROVE & AUTHORIZE TWO REIMBURSABLE SERVICES AGREEMENTS WITH CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY <br />PATROL RESO.
