06/11/2018 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15668 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY APPROVING AN APPROPRIATION AMENDMENT <br />TRANSFERRING $700,000.00 FROM THE UNASSIGNED PORTION OF <br />THE CITY'S COMMUNITY BENEFITS FUND TO THE COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION FOR MEMBERSHIP DUES FOR THE <br />PURPOSE TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF A CHILDCARE <br />CENTER AT ARROYO GREEN, 707 BRADFORD STREET <br />WHEREAS, over the past two decades, the City has collected funds from <br />developers via development agreements and conditions of approval for the creation of a <br />childcare center; and <br />WHEREAS, in 2015 the City of Redwood City created the Community Benefits <br />Fund as part of its Partnership Redwood City initiative to find new and creative ways to <br />form working relationships within the community to achieve City goals including the <br />development of childcare facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, the funds collected from developers have been placed in the above <br />mentioned Community Benefits Fund; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council awarded the development of the Bradford Street <br />Affordable Housing Site, located at 707 Bradford Street, to MidPen Housing to develop <br />the site for affordable senior housing; and <br />WHEREAS, MidPen Housing shall include a childcare facility at 707 Bradford <br />Street; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has reviewed the recommendation by City Staff to set <br />aside a portion of the City's Community Benefits Fund for a child care center and <br />desires to evidence approval thereof. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />ATTY/RESO.0054/CC RESO APPROVING AN APPROPRATION AMENDMENT FOR 707 BRADFORD ST RESO.
