CJ . 00.. .~ AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 23.17 OF, ADDING SECTION 23.3 TO, AND AMENDING SECTIONS 23.2, 23.4, 23.5 AND 23.16 OF, Cfu\PTER 23 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REm'lOOD CITY RELt-'\TING TO RESPONSIBILITIES OF CITY ~'\NAGER, DIRECTOR OF PERSONNEL AND PERSONNEL BOARD THE COUNCIL OF REm'lOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 23.17 of Chapter 23 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. Section 23.3 is hereby added to the Code of the City of Redwood City, to read as follows: IISection 23.3. As administrative head of the City government, the City Manager shall have the responsibility for making effective the purposes of this chapter, and shall have the following duties: (a) Attend, or appoint his representative (who may be the Director of Personnel) to attend all meetings of the Personnel Board. (b) Supervise the administration of all provisions of this chapter and the rules established Dereunder the administration of which is not specifically reserved to the Personnel Board, or which do not specifically require his dire~t administration. (c). Supervise the preparation of rules and revisions . and amendments thereto for consideration and adoption by the City Council. (d) Supervise the preparation of a position classi- fication plan and all revisions thereto for submission to the Personnel Board. Arter adoption of the plan by the Personnel Board, the City Manager shall allocate all positions in the competitive service to the classes therein established. (e) Recommend a salary and wage plan to the Personnel Board for its approval. 11 SECTION 3. Section 23.2 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby amended- to read as follows: IISection 23.2.
