3/8/99 <br /> w ORIGINAL - <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 13577 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION <br /> OF GRANT APPLICATION AND AGREEMENT WITH THE <br /> COASTAL CONSERVANCY OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> (San Francisco Bay Trail Project) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Coastal Conservancy of the State of <br />California (the "Coastal Conservancy") is to work with the people of the State of <br />Califomia to protect and improve coastal and San Francisco Bay resources and <br />to provide public access to the shore; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, one of the Coastal Conservancy's priorities is to complete the <br />San Francisco Bay Trail; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Coastal Conservancy has initiated a program of <br />competitive grants to be awarded to local governments, special districts, land <br />trusts and nonprofit organizations to fund the addition of segments to the Bay <br />Trail, connectors and destination points, and the improvement of existing trails; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City desires to apply for a grant from the <br />Coastal Conservancy through its San Francisco Bay Access Program Grants <br />(the "Grant") to add segments to the Bay Trail and otherwise improve certain <br />segments of the Redwood City trails; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Homestead Village, Inc. has proposed to prepare the <br />application for the Grant and otherwise provide the necessary engineering and <br /> <br />Reso-614 1 <br />G f~sh~s h/r edwcod'~co uncil <br />FXS:fs <br />03/02/99 <br /> <br /> <br />
