<br />SWC-bjl 3/l4/88 (#22) <br />MAR 2 1 1988 <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N o. 1 0 740 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF TWO (2) PUMPER TRUCKS <br />THROUGH THE CITY OF SAN JOSE SUBJECT TO CERTAIN <br />CONDITIONS; AND AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE <br />AGREEMENT FOR PURCHASE OF SAID EQUIPMENT, AND FOR LEASE <br />PURCHASE FINANCING THEREOF, AS DEEMED APPROPRIATE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City desires to purchase two <br /> <br />1500 Gallon-Per-Minute Triple Combination Pumper trucks; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Redwood City Code Section 2.80 provides that <br /> <br />Redwood City may request any local agency to purchase equipment <br /> <br />on behalf of the City provided that the bidding procedures of <br /> <br />said local agency are substantially equivalent to those of <br /> <br />Redwood City, that the equipment be purchased pursuant to those <br /> <br />competitive bidding procedures, and meets other such requirements <br /> <br />as are set forth in said Section 2.80; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Jose has, following bidding <br /> <br />procedures similar to those required by Article VII, commencing <br /> <br />wi th Section 2.63 of the Redwood City Code, awarded a bid for <br /> <br />purchase of several such pumper trucks, to Pierce Manufacturing, <br /> <br />Inc., Appleton, Wisconsin; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Jose is willing to act as the <br /> <br />agency of the City of Redwood City for the purpose of purchasing <br /> <br />possibly two, pumper trucks through the San Jose purchase order <br /> <br />for said equipment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to substitute the City of San <br /> <br />Jose's bidding procedures for those of the City of Redwood City, <br /> <br />to designate the City of San Jose as the City's agent for the <br /> <br />10740 <br />
