<br />DAS:sh 7/28/86 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />10265 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />AUG 4 1986 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CONDEMNING UTILITY BUILDING AT 757 DOUGLAS <br />AVENUE AS A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND DIRECTING <br />RECONSTRUCTION OR REMOVAL THEREOF <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Building Department of this City has determined <br /> <br />that the utility building which is located at 757 Douglas Avenue <br /> <br />is a public nuisance as defined by Section 9.5 of the Redwood <br /> <br />City Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Building Department has given notice to the <br /> <br />owners of the utility building at 757 Douglas Avenue, as <br /> <br />evidenced by Exhibit "A", to appear before this City Council to <br /> <br />show cause, if any, why such building should not be declared to <br /> <br />be a public nuisance and abated in accordance with the provisions <br /> <br />of Chapter 9 of the Redwood City Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council has received evidence that the utility <br /> <br />building at 757 Douglas Avenue has become abandoned and <br /> <br />constitutes an attractive nuisance and hazard to the public in <br /> <br />violation of Section 9.6 of the Redwood City Code; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. The utility building at 757 Douglas Avenue is determined <br /> <br />to be a public nuisance as defined in Section 9.5 of the Redwood <br /> <br />City Code, based on the following findings: <br /> <br />(a) As evidenced by Exhibit "B", the utility building <br /> <br />is manifestly unsafe for human habitation for which purposes <br /> <br />it was being used.
