<br />DCB:sh 8/22/84 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />9682 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />AUG 2 7 1984 <br /> <br />--------- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ADDING SECTION 15 TO RULE X OF THE PERSONNEL <br />RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />RELATING TO CONTRACT APPOINTMENT AND AMENDING SECTION 1 <br />OF RESOLUTION NO. 9666 ESTABLISHING SALARY AND WAGE <br />PLAN FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATIONS RELATING TO <br />MANAGEMENT AND CONFIDENTIAL ASSIGNMENTS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council has been advised by the Director of <br /> <br />Human Resources that the City requires the hiring of personnel on <br /> <br />a "contract" or "project" basis; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the provisions of the Personnel Rules and <br /> <br />Regulations of the City of Redwood City should facilitate the <br /> <br />process of hiring these "contract" or "project" employees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council has been advised by the Director of <br /> <br />Human Resources that the proposed addition would result in <br /> <br />savings to the City in time and expense and in greater efficiency <br /> <br />in the use of personnel by permitting the City Manager to appoint <br /> <br />an individual on a contract basis to accomplish specific tasks <br /> <br />for particular program or projects; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Section 15 of Rule X of the Personnel Rules and <br /> <br />Regulations of the City of Redwood City, is hereby added to read <br /> <br />as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 15. <br /> <br />Contract Appointment: <br /> <br />When there is <br /> <br />full-time or part-time work to be performed on a temporary <br /> <br />9682 <br />
