0 R I G I N A L 12/8/97 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 13261 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION FINDING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND <br /> NECESSITY REQUIRE THE IMMEDIATE EXPENDITURE OF <br /> PUBLIC FUNDS TO SAFEGUARD LIFE, HEALTH AND <br /> PROPERTY; SUSPENDING BIDDING PROCEDURES AND <br /> AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE EXECUTION OF <br /> CONTRACTS OR OTHER DOCUMENTS FOR THE <br /> PERFORMANCE OF EMERGENCY REPAIR AND <br /> RESTORATION WORK TO CERTAIN STORM DRAIN <br /> FACILITIES <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. Findin.qs. This Council hereby finds that: <br /> <br /> (a) on or about November 29, 1997, an approximate 60 foot section of <br /> concrete lining of a branch of Redwood Creek in the vicinity of <br /> Redwood Avenue and Ebener Street, Redwood City, California, <br /> collapsed into the creek bed; <br /> <br /> (b) said concrete-lined tributary serves as a storm drainage facility for the <br /> collection and transmission of surface water run off for a substantial <br /> portion of the south easterly quadrant of the City; <br /> <br /> (c) the collapsed section has occurred in close proximity to a residential <br /> <br /> structure and appurtenances; <br /> <br /> (d) flow of water through the creek in its present condition will further <br /> erode the creek bed and endanger the aforesaid property, and the <br /> health and safety of the residents of the structure; <br /> <br /> Reso-339 1 <br /> G:~shared~redwood~;ouncil <br /> DES:djk <br /> 12/04/97 <br /> <br /> <br />
