0 R I G I N A L 7/29/96 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 12834 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING FINDINGS, FACTS IN SUPPORT OF <br /> FINDINGS, AND STATEMENT OF OVERRIDING CONSIDERATIONS <br /> REGARDING THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT FOR THE <br /> ELECTRONIC ARTS HEADQUARTERS MASTER PLAN <br /> <br /> (FLATIRONS FUNDING) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Flatirons Funding, Limited Parmership, ("Flatirons") is the owner of <br />the property ("Property") comprising approximately 42.63 acres of vacant land within <br />the City of Redwood City ("City") on which Flatirons proposes to develop a project <br />("Project"); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Project consists of a maximum of 1,000,000 square feet of office <br />space on the Property, and up to 50,000 square feet of special purpose accessory <br />slructures, including cafeteria, fitness, and conferencing faculties; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Project is consistent with the City's General Plan, which <br />designates the site for "Office Park Oriented Uses," and with the zoning designations for <br />the site, which are Commercial Park (CP) and Professional Office (PO); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, General Improvement District 1-64 ("GID 1-64") is a party to the <br />Development Agreement between and among the City, Flatirons Funding and GID 1-64, <br />relating to the development of the Project on the Property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in 1975, after a duly noticed public hearing, the Planning <br />Commission of City considered and certified the Environmental Impact Report for the <br />General Plan Revision for Redwood Peninsula ("Redwood Peninsula EIR") as adequate <br />and in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA"); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Redwood Peninsula EIR has already evaluated the environmental <br />impacts of the development of the Redwood Peninsula, including the Project site; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City, acting as Lead Agency pursuant to CEQA, has carefully <br />evaluated the environmental effects of the Project, and has determined that the Project <br />will have no new environmental effects that were not already considered in the Redwood <br />Peninsula EIR; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has prepared a Technical Addendum to the Redwood <br />Peninsula EIR to supply the technical information necessary to apply the Redwood <br />Peninsula EIR to the Project; and <br /> <br />GIDEIRRS.DOC 1 <br />7t23~96 <br />5:54 PM <br /> <br /> <br />
