0 R I G I N A L 7/15/96 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 12819 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TECHNICAL ADDENDUM TO THE <br /> REDWOOD PENINSULA ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT AND <br /> CERTIFYING THE REDWOOD PENINSULA ENVIRONMENTAL <br /> IMPACT REPORT AND TECHNICAL ADDENDUM AS THE PROJECT <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT <br /> <br /> (FLATIRONS FUNDING) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Sections 21000 et seq., of the California <br />Public Resources Code, and the State CEQA Guidelines, the City of Redwood City may prepare <br />and approve a technical addendum (the "Technical Addendum") to an Environmental Impact <br />Report ("EIR"); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Flatirons Funding, a limited partnership, ("Flatirons") is the owner of the <br />property (the "Property") comprising approximately 42.63 acres of vacant land within the City of <br />Redwood City ("City") on which Flatirons proposes to develop a project (the "Project"); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on May 24, 1982, the City of Redwood City approved a Development <br />Agreement, as evidenced by Ordinance 1859, for property located within the Redwood Shores <br />area, which Development Agreement included the Property; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Project consists of a maximum of 1,000,000 square feet of office space <br />on the Property, and up to 50,000 square feet of special purpose accessory structures, including <br />cafeteria, fitness, and conferencing facilities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Project is consistent with the City's General Plan, which designates the <br /> site for "Office Park Oriented Uses," and with the zoning designations for the site, which are <br /> Commercial Park (CP) and Professional Office (PO); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in 1975, after a duly noticed public heating, the Planning Commission of <br /> City considered and certified the Environmental Impact Report for the General Plan Revision for <br /> Redwood Peninsula ("Redwood Peninsula EIR") as adequate and in compliance with the <br /> California Environmental Quality Act; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Redwood Peninsula EIR has already evaluated the environmental <br /> impacts of the development of the Redwood Peninsula, including the Project site; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City has carefully evaluated the environmental effects of the Project, <br /> and has determined that the Project will have no new environmental effects that were not already <br /> considered in the Redwood Peninsula EIR; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City has prepared a Technical Addendum to the Redwood Peninsula <br /> EIR to supply the technical information necessary to apply the Redwood Peninsula EIR to the <br /> Project; and <br /> <br /> EAADRECC.DOC 1 <br /> July 11, 1996 8:28 AM <br /> <br /> <br />
