07/12/2010 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15037 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ADOPTING THE <br />BUDGET OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY FOR FISCAL YEAR JULY <br />1 2010 - JUNE 30 2011 AND PROVIDING FOR THE APPROPRIATION <br />AND EXPENDITURE OF ALL SUMS SET FORTH IN SAID BUDGET <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with the Charter of the City of Redwood City, the City <br />Manager has submitted to the Council of Redwood City a proposed annual budget for <br />Fiscal Year July 1, 2010 -June 30, 2011; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the Charter, after duly noticed public hearing, the <br />Council has approved the budget and it has been certified by the City Clerk and the City <br />Manager as the Budget, as amended, of the City for Fiscal Year 20010 -2011; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Council of Redwood City to adopt the <br />certified copy of the Budget presently on file in the office of the City Clerk; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1 . Adoption of Budget The Budget for the Fiscal Year July 1, 2010 <br />- June 30, 2011, approved by the Council and certified by the City Clerk and City <br />Manager, presently on file in the office of the City Clerk, is adopted. The Budget is <br />contained in the document entitled "Recommended Budget FY 2010 - 2012." <br />SECTION 2 . Appropriations The amounts designated for subprograms in the <br />Budget document's "Operating Programs" section are appropriated to each designated <br />subprogram and the amounts designated for capital projects listed in the Budget <br />document's "Capital Improvement Projects" section are appropriated, excepting those <br />for the Redevelopment Agency. The Beginning Balance in the Budget document's <br />"Analysis of Budget by Fund" and the Revenue Estimates for 2010 -11 in the Budget <br />document's "Budget Summary", including those for the Redwood City Public Financing <br />Authority and assessment and improvement districts, excepting those for the <br />Redevelopment Agency, are appropriated. <br />SECTION 3 Provision for Interim Expenditures as of July 1, 2010, <br />Reappropriations All expenses incurred after July 1, 2010 shall be charged to the <br />2010 -2011 Budget. <br />SECTION 4. Layoffs. In the judgment of the City Council it is necessary to <br />reduce the work force in the interest of the economy and /or because the position <br />involved no longer exists. The several Memoranda of Understandings establish layoff <br />procedures, including bumping rights. The City Council recognizes that the <br />implementation of the layoff procedures for a specific position, depending upon the <br />bumping rights of the impacted employees, may result in the actual layoff of an <br />ATTY /RESO /RESO.2029 l #15037 <br />070110 MUFF # 501 <br />
