8/27/2018 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15697 <br />A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AND THE BOARD OF PORT COMMISSIONERS OF <br />THE PORT OF REDWOOD CITY FOR A CONTRIBUTION BY THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY TO THE PORT OF REDWOOD CITY TO FUND <br />INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS AT THE REDWOOD CITY <br />MUNICIPAL MARINA FOR LIVEABOARD PURPOSES <br />WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 1730 of the City of Redwood City ("City"), adopted <br />November 29, 1977, the City Council of the City transferred to and conferred upon the <br />Board of Port Commissioners of the City of Redwood City control and jurisdiction over <br />certain City -owned real property situated in the City of Redwood City, generally known <br />as the Redwood City Municipal Marina (the "Municipal Marina'; and <br />WHEREAS, City desires to complete the implementation of the Docktown Plan <br />and to share costs with the Port of Redwood City ("Port") for capital improvements to <br />the Municipal Marina to support liveaboards; and <br />WHEREAS, the Port requires certain improvements to its facilities and <br />infrastructure, including repairs and upgrades to the "C" dock and the restroom and <br />laundry facilities of the Municipal Marina, generally described in Exhibit A, attached <br />hereto and incorporated by this reference, in order to support liveaboards residing at the <br />Municipal Marina ("the Liveaboard Improvements"); and <br />WHEREAS, the Liveaboard Improvements are expected to cost the Port <br />approximately Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars ($800,000); and <br />WHEREAS, the City has agreed to contribute Fifty Percent (50%) of the total <br />costs for the Liveaboard Improvements, in the amount of Four Hundred Thousand <br />Dollars ($400,000); and <br />WHEREAS, the Port makes an annual subvention payment to the City each <br />year; and <br />WHEREAS, for Fiscal Year 2017-2018, the Port's annual subvention payment to <br />the City is estimated to be Five Hundred Fourteen Thousand Dollars ($514,000); and <br />WHEREAS, the Port will receive a credit of Four Hundred Thousand Dollars <br />($400,000) against its Fiscal Year 2017-2018 subvention payment as the City's <br />contribution to the Port's total costs for the Liveaboard Improvements. <br />ATTY/RESO.0081/CC RESO CAPITAL COSTS FOR PORT IMPROVEMENT RESO NO. 15697 <br />REV: 08-21-18 VR MUFF NO. 508 <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />
