Description
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DESIGNATING RESIDENTIAL PERMIT PARKING AREA "B" FOR PARTS OF CERTAIN STREETS IN THE FRIENDLY ACRES NEIGHBORHOOD BORDERED BY BAY ROAD, BROADWAY, 2ND AVENUE AND 5T" AVENUE; AND AUTHORIZING THE ERECTION OF APPROPRIATE SIGNS AND THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR SAID AREA The City of Redwood City in 1985 adopted the Residential Parking Permit Program codified in the City's Municipal Code in Chapter 20, Article 7, Division 11 to discourage long-term parking by people who do not live in the residential neighborhood; and the City received a petition requesting creation of a residential parking permit area in the Friendly Acres neighborhood; and the City collected parking occupancy data which demonstrated that parking was being negatively impacted by the adjacent commercial areas, commute

8/27/2018 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15698 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY DESIGNATING RESIDENTIAL PERMIT PARKING AREA "B" FOR <br />PARTS OF CERTAIN STREETS IN THE FRIENDLY ACRES <br />NEIGHBORHOOD BORDERED BY BAY ROAD, BROADWAY, 2ND <br />AVENUE AND 5T" AVENUE; AND AUTHORIZING THE ERECTION OF <br />APPROPRIATE SIGNS AND THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR SAID <br />AREA <br />WHEREAS, The City of Redwood City in 1985 adopted the Residential Parking <br />Permit Program codified in the City's Municipal Code in Chapter 20, Article 7, Division 11 <br />to discourage long-term parking by people who do not live in the residential neighborhood; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City received a petition requesting creation of a residential <br />parking permit area in the Friendly Acres neighborhood; and <br />WHEREAS, the City collected parking occupancy data which demonstrated that <br />parking was being negatively impacted by the adjacent commercial areas, commute <br />parkers, and excessive internal neighborhood vehicles; and <br />WHEREAS, the City surveyed residents and property owners within the area, with <br />40% of the affected addresses responding and 78% supporting the creation of a <br />residential parking permit area. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 20, Article 7, Division 11 of the <br />Municipal Code of the City of Redwood City, the City hereby designates Residential <br />Permit Parking Area "B" for parts of certain streets in the Friendly Acres <br />Neighborhood as indicated in Section 2 and as illustrated in Exhibit "A". <br />Section 2. The following streets and public right-of-ways or portions thereof, and <br />the applicable time schedules (during which times it is unlawful for any person to park a <br />vehicle for more than a consecutive period of two hours without a valid residential parking <br />permit or temporary or guest permit) are hereby designated: <br />2nd Avenue. <br />a) The south side, from Bay Road to Broadway - Mondays <br />through Fridays between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., <br />holidays excluded. <br />ATTY/RES0.0079/ CC RESO DESIGNATING PERMIT PARKING —FRIENDLY ACRES RESO.
