4/23/01 <br />0RIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14207 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING ANNUAL ACTION PLAN OF THE <br />CONSOLIDATED PLAN (2000 -2005) AND APPLICATION FOR <br />FEDERAL ASSISTANCE (COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />BLOCK GRANT AND HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP <br />FUNDS); CERTIFYING THAT THE CITY HAS FOLLOWED ITS <br />ADOPTED CITIZEN PARTICIPATION PLAN; AND <br />AUTHORIZING EXECUTION AND FILING OF ALL <br />DOCUMENTS PERTAINING THERETO (FISCAL YEAR 2001 — <br />2002) <br />WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant Program authorized <br />pursuant to Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 974, (P.L. 93- <br />383), as amended ( "the Act'), requires that jurisdictions receiving federal funds develop <br />a Consolidated Plan and provide for the issuance of grants in order to attain the <br />objective of the development of viable urban Communities, by providing decent housing <br />and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for <br />persons of low or moderate income; and <br />WHEREAS, there has been presented to, and reviewed by this Council, an <br />Annual Action Plan to the Consolidated Plan and an application to the United States <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development for a Community Development Block <br />Grant in the amount of approximately Nine Hundred Seventy -nine Thousand Dollars <br />($979,000) and HOME Investment Partnership funds in the amount of Four Hundred <br />Forty -three Thousand Dollars ($443,000) for the period of July 1, 2001 through June 30, <br />2002; and <br />WHEREAS, there has been prepared by the Director of Community Development <br />a Notice of Determination determining that the proposed Community Development <br />Block Grant Program and approval of the Consolidated Plan, as set forth in the <br />Reso -878 <br />F: /Shared/Redwood/Council <br />FXS /djk <br />04/09/01 <br />
