<br />02/13/2006 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14692 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY APPROVING AMENDMENT NO.1 TO THE CONTRIBUTION <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND THE <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR HIGHWAY 101 BICYCLE PATH. <br />RECYCLED WATER TRANSMISSION LINE COST SHARE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as part of an overall lane widening project, the State of California <br /> <br />Department of Transportation (CaITrans) plans to construct a bicycle path adjacent to <br /> <br />Highway 101 between the Whipple Avenue on-ramp and Sky Way frontage road; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, CalTrans has agreed to include, as part of the project, the <br /> <br />installation of a City twenty-four inch recycled water transmission line under the bike <br /> <br />path; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on January 28, 2002, the City Council authorized staff to work with <br /> <br />consultants, CalTrans and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority to conduct a <br /> <br />pre-design study of the proposed transmission line and to develop a checklist of all of <br /> <br />technical requirements, permits, constraints and potential costs associated with the <br /> <br />work; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on March 11, 2002, the City Council approved an agreement <br /> <br />authorizing Kennedy/Jenks Consultants to design the recycled water pipeline alignment <br /> <br />and to prepare construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates and to provide <br /> <br />support services during bidding; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on June 3, 2002, the City Council approved the Contribution <br /> <br />Agreement with the State of California Department of Transportation (CaITrans), and <br /> <br />authorized the City Manager to enter into the Contribution Agreement ("Agreement") for <br /> <br />F:Atty/Reso/Reso.1592 <br />013106 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />14692 <br />Muff #304 <br /> <br />- ---.--.---..-.-.-.-.----.-----.-------- <br />
