06/22/2009 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14948 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING <br />WATER SUPPLY AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY AND COUNTY OF <br />SAN FRANCISCO <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City (City) has purchased water from the City <br />and County of San Francisco(San Francisco) for many years; and <br />WHEREAS, the "Settlement Agreement and Master Water Sales Contract" <br />between the City and San Francisco, which was entered into in 1984, will expire on <br />June 30, 2009; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is a member of the Bay Area Water Supply and <br />Conservation Agency (BAWSCA), which was formed in 2002 pursuant to Water Code <br />Section 81300 et seq. to represent the interests of the communities in Alameda, San <br />Mateo and Santa Clara counties that purchase water from San Francisco; and <br />WHEREAS, on September 25, 2006, this Council, by Resolution No. 14734 <br />appointed BAWSCA to represent it in negotiations for a new water supply agreement <br />with San Francisco; and <br />WHEREAS, each of the other 26 entities which are members of BAWSCA <br />similarly delegated negotiating authority to BAWSCA; and <br />WHEREAS, BAWSCA has submitted periodic reports to City on progress during <br />the negotiations and has provided detailed briefings on all significant elements of the <br />Agreement; and <br />Atty /Reso /Reso.1921 14948 <br />060909 1 Muff # 304 <br />
