<br />SWC:mf 12/16/81 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. 9 02 8 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />DEe 2 1 1981 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT FOR FURNISHING <br />OF REPLACEMENT FIRE TRUCK; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION <br />OF AGREEMENT THEREFOR; AND AUTHORIZING SOLICITATION <br />OF PROPOSALS FOR FINANCING THEREOF <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 8990, adopted October 26, 1981, <br /> <br />the City Clerk called for bids for the furnishing of a replacement <br /> <br />fire truck; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to said call, one bid was received and <br /> <br />filed with the City Clerk for the furnishing of said equipment; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Van Pelt Fire Trucks, Oakdale, California, is the <br /> <br />lowest responsible bidder for the furnishing of said equipment, <br /> <br />and it is the intention of this Council to award said bid to <br /> <br />Van Pelt Fire Trucks; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has determined that fin- <br /> <br />ancing said equipment from financial institutions for a lease <br /> <br />with option to purchase may be more cost advantageous than <br /> <br />direct purchase; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the intent of this Council to authorize <br /> <br />the Director of Finance to solicit proposals for the financing <br /> <br />of the aforementioned fire truck; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. The bid of Van Pelt Fire Trucks, in the total lump sum <br /> <br />of Two Hundred Thirty-six Thousand Six Hundred Sixteen and No/IOO <br /> <br />Dollars ($236,616.00), plus sales tax for the furnishing of <br /> <br />a fire truck including optional features #5 and #6, in accordance <br /> <br />with the bidding proposal, and in accordance with the specifications <br /> <br />therefor on file in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby <br /> <br />9 028 <br />
