01/23/2012 ORIGINAL ORDINANCE NO. 2375 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ADDING DIVISION 5.5, SECTIONS 3.93 THROUGH 3.96 OF CHAPTER 3 TO THE REDWOOD CITY MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO MODIFICATION OF SIGN REGULATIONS WHEREAS, an amendment is necessary to bring consistency to the provisions for modifications of sign regulations for Planned Development Permits and Planned Community Permits. NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The above constitute the Council's findings, which are hereby incorporated herein by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. SECTION 2 A new Division 5.5 Modifications containing new sections 3.93 through 3.96 is hereby added to read as follows: DIVISION 5.5 MODIFICATIONS Sec. 3.93 General Purpose A. In order to prevent or lessen practical difficulties and unnecessary hardship, inconsistent with the purpose and objectives of this Chapter, modifications to the requirements of this Chapter and other City sign regulations may be granted or conditionally granted relating to the number, location, height, and size of signs in conjunction with and as part of a comprehensive Planned Development Permit or Planned Community Permit. B. No modification may be granted for approving signs prohibited by this Chapter. Sec. 3.94 Findings Required A. No Modification may be granted pursuant to this subsection unless the following findings are made and supported by substantial evidence: 1. The proposed sign program as a whole to be approved through these modifications conforms to the purposes, basic objectives principles of this Chapter and, as applicable, also conforms to the objectives and purposes for Planned Development Permits; for Planned ATTY/ORD.364lADDING MODIFICATION OF SIGN REGULATIONS ORD. # 2375 REV:12/19/11 FORMERLY MUFF # 305 Page 1 of 2
